The CEDS report is essentially a regional economic development project prioritization document. It provides an economic snapshot of the region and establishes regional goals through which implementation strategies for community development projects are identified and cultivated to have the greatest economic impact on the region as a whole.
ADIR is a cabinet-level department of state government providing services which have considerable impact on the economic well-being of all Alabamians. It is a core partner in Alabama’s Career Center System which provides one-stop employment and training services as mandated by the Workforce Investment Act. ADIR publishes a monthly Labor Market Newsletter as well as additional related publications.
On March 11th, 2009, the Regional Planning Commission of Greater Birmingham held a meeting for regional participants in preparation for the update of the Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) program. The purpose of this meeting was to address issues and items within the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009.
