Upper Cahaba Watershed Study

While serving as a primary source of drinking water for metropolitan Birmingham, the Cahaba River is also nationally recognized for its biodiversity and recreational value. Population growth and associated land development in the Upper Cahaba Watershed is a growing concern for everyone in the Birmingham region. In an effort to develop a coordinated approach to guide future development while protecting the Upper Cahaba River and its tributaries, several jurisdictions that share this treasured natural resource formed the Upper Cahaba Watershed Consortium. The Upper Cahaba Watershed Study was utlimately funded and commissioned by the Consortium in 2002. The following data and reports are the end products from Phases I& II of the Upper Cahaba Watershed Study and can be accessed through this FTP site and downloaded.
