Community Development Projects

Some of the community development department’s projects and partners include the following:

Your Town Alabama
The goal of Your Town Alabama is to provide advanced leadership skills supported by information and planning tools that can be taken home to all corners of the state and applied to the process of local planning and design. The two and one half day workshop are intended for citizen leaders and professionals and are highly participatory with lectures, case-study presentations, and interactive group problem solving, including work on realistic issues in a hypothetical small town.

Alabama Communities of Excellence (ACE)
RPC will assist communities with 12,000 or less population with their participation in the ACE program.

Regional Main Street Program
RPC will be working with a limited number of member communities to establish local community and economic development programs based on the highly successful Main Street approach.
