Air Quality Expo

Alabama Partners for Clean Air (APCA), an initiative of the Regional Planning Commission of Greater Birmingham (RPCGB) will host an Air Quality Awareness Week the week of August 1st. The week will culminate with an Air Quality Expo on Saturday, August 6 at Railroad Park.

Poor air quality affects our health and our economy. Air Quality Awareness Week hopes to promote a better understanding of ways the community can help to improve air quality in the region. Local air quality experts with APCA will discuss the impacts of our air quality during multiple TV and radio interviews during Air Quality Awareness Week.

APCA and its partners will host the Air Quality Expo at the West Gate (on 14th Street S) of Railroad Park from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on August 6. This FREE event will give attendees the chance to learn more about our air quality and the steps needed for improvement. Highlights of the expo will include free emissions testing for vehicles, a viewing of several alternative fuel vehicles, opportunities to learn about recycling and much more. CommuteSmart will inform attendees on better commuting habits and cleaner modes of transportation as well.
