530 Waiver Program-HIV/AIDS

As of June 1, 2012, the 530 Waiver, a program of the Alabama Department of Senior Services (ADSS) and the Alabama Medicaid Agency will be administered by the RPCGB. This free program is designed to allow individuals, 21 years or older, facing nursing home placement due to HIV/AIDS diagnosis, to remain in their homes as long as possible. There are a limited number of openings in the program and all clients must meet the medical and financial requirements to receive services. The 530 Waiver is not an entitlement program. Free services administered through the program include: case management, personal care, homemaker, companion services, respite care, and skilled nursing from an RN or LPN.
