Thomas Neighborhood Plan Kickoff

The RPCGB kicked off the Thomas Neighborhood Plan Tuesday, June 5, at 6:30 p.m. The "one way in, one way out" neighborhood in western Birmingham has been a problem for decades according to its residents. RPCGB Community Planners Philip Amthor and Steve Ostaseski attended the regularly scheduled neighborhood meeting and presented initial research on the Thomas Neighborhood's history, solicited comments from neighborhood residents on their vision for the neighborhood, and discussed the planning process that will be conducted throughout the rest of the year. "We're going to look at a plan for the neighborhood, and a bridge may be one of those solutions," said Ostaseski. Upon completion of the plan, the RPCGB will continue to work on options for a neighborhood revitalization.
