Transportation Bill Passes Congress and is Signed Into Law
On June 29, the House and Senate passed the reauthorization bill for the nation's surface transportation and President Obama signed it into law. The new legislation, Moving Ahead for Progress in the 21st Century (MAP-21), authorizes the nation's surface transportation programs through 2014, and increases investment across all major programs and funding streams. This bill becomes active on October 1, 2012.
